Civil War Display's
Have been going through some of my files and thought
this photo of Eastport Civil War Veterans and their
possible identities(as provided to me by Johnny Craig of
Eastport in 1978) might be of interest to the BHS.  John
may have been a bit off regarding several of these
names, however, because in his cover letter to me he
had noted the following:  First line: The man with the
cane (unk); Mr. Carney: Mr. Phelph; Mr. Bibber: Mr.
Lewis: and Mr. Wadsworth.  He then notes those in the
back row are as follows: Mr. Corvell(sic); Mr. Bradish; Mr.
Call; Mr. Watson; Mr. Beale, and the next person is
unknown.

I am sure there are other Border Historical Society
members who would be able to comment on the
identification of these individuals and make whatever
corrections are necessary.  I am also in the process of
pulling together some other materials that I have of
Eastport men in the Civil War which may be of interest to
those visiting the Border Historical Society museum in
light of the upcoming sequicentenial.  (I hope these
scanned documents transmit ok.  If they don't please let
me know.  Jack Craig
